Climate change has been giving rigorous challenge to the coastal habitations. Sea level rise, erratic rainfall, increased intensity & frequency of disasters, salinity, water scarcity are some of the clearly visualized indicators of it. Studies has already illustrated that the east coast of India along Bay of Bengal is one of the most vulnerable zone for this changing climate. Our focus villages/ wards are coming directly in this zone. We promote climate smart measures in these habitations. Our approach to this issue is so far limited in developing adoptive capacity of the community. We also facilitate activities in these communities so that they can map, assess, predict and take early actions against climate change induced issues.
